Dental Sedation Courses offer quality, readily accessible Conscious Sedation courses and Relevant CPD training to Dentists, DCPs and Dental Nurses delivered by experienced sedation providers throughout the UK and Ireland. We aim to help reduce the barriers to high quality training in order to ensure safe, accessible and affordable conscious sedation can be made available to all patients in primary care. Our courses follow the latest IACSD guidelines (and updated 2017 SDCEP guidelines) and have been fully accredited by either the IACSD via the Royal College of Surgeons or the NEBDN for dental sedation nursing. Our Blended learning course format for all of our courses enables you to complete the entire course from your home and/or dental practice saving expenses and more importantly your time. All Courses have been split into online theory and skills training followed by mentored supervised practice (with the exception of refresher courses which are usually completed online). We are fortunate to have the availability of mentor centres in England, Scotland and Northern Ireland where dentists, dental nurses, hygienists and therapists are able to complete their mentored cases on patients that we provide; this can be arranged on an individual basis.

Why Conscious Sedation?

What Are The Latest Training Guidelines ?The Intercollegiate Advisory Committee for Sedation in Dentistry (IACSD) guidelines came out in April 2015 (UPDATED 2020) with the aim of creating a UK-wide guideline document for conscious sedation in dentistry; this was soon implemented by NHS England and underwent a review process by the Chief Dental officers and assigned bodies in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. (It could not be implemented simultaneously in all countries of the UK as a result of the devolved nature of the health service) |
